Taiwan may have to move the 21st Fighter Squadron out of Luke AFB

Taiwan’s China Times reported that the island may have to look for a new location to bed down its F-16 training unit in the United States.

Currently, it has F-16A/Bs at Luke Air Force Base and they operate under the 21st Fighter Squadron. The base is transitioning into a major training base for the F-35. Taiwan’s agreement to use the base is due for renewal next year as well.

China Times said Taiwan wishes to renew the training program for another two years till 2019.
