India Army, Air Force ground Cheetah and Chetak for safety checks

The Cheetah and Chetak helicopter fleet with the Indian Air Force and Army have been grounded for Hindustan Aeronautics Limited to carry out comprehensive safety checks.

The ruling came in the wake of a fatal crash in West Bengal on Nov. 30 that killed three soldiers.

Those operated by the Navy and the Cheetal variant are not affected by the grounding.
