Lebanese Air Force’s A-29 training will be at Moody Air Force Base

The 81st Fighter Squadron at Moody Air Force Base has a new assignment. The unit, which trains the Afghan Air Force to fly the A-29, will also train Lebanese Air Force pilots and maintainers on the turboprop aircraft.

Lebanon will bring six new aircraft along with 80 personnel to the base for the conversion process. Twenty-two are maintainers with twelve pilots. The rest are civilians and contractors required to support the training program.

The first aircraft is expected to arrive early next year and training will commence in February.
