U.S. will strike ISIL in Palmyra if Russia, Syria fail to retake city

A U.S. general has warned that unless Russia and Syria take back Palmyra from ISIL, the United States will be forced to carry out air strikes on the extremist group there.

Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend said the fall of the city is a concern as ISIL has obtained significant amount of weaponry which includes air defense systems.
