The Boeing T-X advanced jet trainer took to the air for the first time on Dec. 20 with lead T-X Test Pilot Steven Schmidt and Chief Pilot for Air Force Programs Dan Draeger in the cockpit.

The flight was 55 minutes and Boeing said the flight “validated key aspects of the single-engine jet and demonstrated the performance of the low-risk design.”
