Air Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto was been appointed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Jan. 18 as the new chief of staff for the Air Force.
Hadi is said to be close to the President as he was formerly the commander of Adi Sumarmo air force base in Solo between 2010-2011 while Joko was mayor of Solo.
