The Nigerian Air Force has dispatched fighter jets, transport aircraft and a helicopter to Dakar, Senegal as part of its contribution to the Economic Community of West African States Military Intervention in Gambia (ECOMIG).

The force was mooted by the Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) to force Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh to set down after losing the recent election.
