T-45C from VT-9 crashes

The U.S. Navy lost a T-45C assigned to VT-9 on Jan. 17 at Meridian Regional Airport. Both student and instructor were able to eject in time.

According to the Navy Safety Center, the jet (BuNo. 165466), had encountered a bird strike and was trying to recover back at Meridian before it crashed just short of the runway.
