The second U-2 to clock 30,000 flight hours Posted on February 4, 2017 by alert5 A 48 year-old U-2 has reached 30,000 hours of flight time on Feb. 2 during a mission in the Middle East. It was the second U-2 to cross that mark. A U-2 taxis through a ceremonial shower after completing 30,000 flight hours at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia, Feb. 2, 2017. Aggressors managed to ‘shot’ down 1 F-35A at Red Flag 17-01 Posted on February 4, 2017February 4, 2017 by alert5 Keith Rogers from Las Vegas Review Journal was at Nellis Air Force Base for Red Flag 17-01 where the F-35A is making its debut and he was told that so far the kill ratio for the stealth fighter is 15:1. F-35A Lightning IIs piloted by the 388th and 419th Fighter Wings taxi toward the runway, Jan. 20 for Nellis AFB, Nev., to participate in a Red Flag exercise. Red Flag is the U.S. Air Force’s premier air-to-air combat training exercise. This is the first deployment to Red Flag since the Air Force declared the jet combat ready in August 2016.
