The South Korean Ministry of Defense has confirmed that Adm. Harry Harris, commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, had proposed to forward deploy the U.S. Navy’s newest destroyer USS Zumwalt to South Korea.

Defense Ministry spokesman Moon Sang-gyun said in a press briefing that the Ministry is still waiting for an official proposal from the Pentagon but Seoul will seriously consider it.
