China finishing SAM structures in Spratly archipelago

Two anonymous U.S. officials told Reuters that China is about to finish building several structures in the South China Sea that could be used for the deployment of surface-to-air missiles.

One official said the concrete structures with retractable roofs appeared to be 20 meters (66 feet) long and 10 meters (33 feet) high.

Previously, structures to support anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems were observed on Subi, Mischief and Fiery Cross reefs.
