The five wrote in a joint letter to Nairobi’s Ambassador to Washington that they “have a reason to question the propriety of the acquisition.” They also said that L3 – the main contractor – “has no experience converting agricultural aircraft into intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft with precision-strike capability.”

The U.S. government announced last month that it had approved the sale.
