Germany intends to keep its CH-53 fleet running till 2030. To achieve that, it has awarded Airbus Helicopters a contract to retrofit 26 helicopters.

Starting from this year, Airbus Helicopters will replace obsolescence parts with new components and the whole project will be completed by 2022.
