Budgetary pressure has forced the Israeli Artillery Corps to deactivate its elite Meitar special forces unit. The outfit was tasked with striking the enemy using the Tammuz anti-tank missile.

The establishment of new units within the Artillery Corps also put a strain on manpower distribution. Members of Meitar are assigned to other units.
