Reuters says Tokyo intends to send its helicopter carrier JS Izumo to ports in Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and Sri Lanka over a period of three months.

The warship is expected to be underway in May and will participate in the Malabar joint naval exercise in the Indian Ocean before returning home in August.
