Canada’s military still pushing for Super Hornets

Canada’s top general, Jonathan Vance, told Reuters that the military is still pushing for the purchase of Super Hornet fighters despite a dispute with Boeing over narrowbody airliners.

“There is a gap, and it needs to be filled,” Vance was quoted as saying.

The deal to buy 18 Super Hornets had turn sour after Boeing had told U.S. lawmakers that Canadian company Bombardier is dumping the airliners in the U.S. markets thanks to steep subsidies from the Canadian government.
