EUCOM releases photos of Russian Su-27 intercepting USAF RC-135U

U.S. European Command has released a set of images of the intercept of a U.S. Air Force RC-135U on Jun. 19 by a Russian Su-27.

A U.S. RC-135U flying in international airspace over the Baltic Sea was intercepted by a Russian SU-27 Flanker June 19, 2017. Due to the high rate of closure speed and poor control of the aircraft during the intercept, this interaction was determined to be unsafe. (Courtesy photo/Released)

The American aircrew had deemed the intercept to be unsafe due to the high rate of closure speed and poor control of the aircraft by the Russian pilot.

  1. Why is the United States always crying about the Russians Flying Too Close it’s like a bully picking on a wimp why not we just do it right back our Pilots are not good enough we got to show what our Pilots can do

  2. And whose country are we bullying, all the time wailing about Unsafe! Unsafe!? We pretend that Russia is a threat to all of Europe and put military assets right on their border and expect them to act like perfect gentlemen about it. I suspect we wouldn’t be so nice if Russian tanks were on the Rio Grande performing military maneuvers. Who is the REAL aggressor here?
