U.S. Congress wants Navy to replace F/A-18+

The FY18 National Defense Authorization bill by the U.S. House of Representatives has included language directing the U.S. Navy to come with a plan to replace the F/A-18+ in service with Reserve fighter squadrons.

The House Armed Services Committee said these 33 aircraft cannot be integrated back into the fleet in times of crisis as they lag behind front-line aircraft in terms of technology.

Therefore, lawmakers want an answer from the sailing branch before Dec. 1 on how the service intends to replace those jets with newer ones.

  1. Give the Navy what really Works and every foreign fighter pilot is scared off. The one we are so afraid of Iran getting parts for we scrapped most of. Get the F14 Tom’s back in the air.
