New parachute canopy being tested for ACES II

Engineers at Edwards Air Force Base have been busy for the past few weeks testing out a new parachute canopy for the Advanced Concept Ejection Seat (ACES) II.

Test data is being collected for the new GR7000 parachute – which will likely be packed into the B-2 stealth bomber version of ACES II.

So far 10 dummy drops, 20 live-person jumps and five drops using a crosswind deployment cylindrical test vehicle have been completed.
