Indian Navy wants 110 light utility helicopters, rejects the Ka-226T

The Indian Ministry of Defense will be issuing an Expression of Interest document to local firms to a “Make in India” project to supply 110 light utility helicopters to the Indian Navy.

The decision came after the service rejected the Ka-226T as unsuitable for its needs. Russia and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) are in a joint venture to supply 200 Ka-226Ts to the Indian Air Force and Army.
