A steel cutting ceremony for the Italian Navy’s new multipurpose amphibious unit (LHD) was held at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Castellammare di Stabia on Jul. 12.

The 200 meters long vessel will have a maximum speed of 25 knots. It can accommodate over 1,000 people. Delivery is scheduled for 2022.
