B-52 testers complete leaflet bomb drops

The 419th Flight Test Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base recently validated the ability to drop the PDU-5/B leaflet bomb from the B-52 bomber.

Two successful sorties were flown and eight bombs were released over the Point Mugu Sea Test Range and eight more over the Precision Impact Range Area on Edwards.

These were released from the external Heavy Stores Adapter Beam and testers plan to test PDU-5/B releases from the B-52’s internal weapons bay in future.
