Four sources told Reuters that the Japanese government plans to transfer surplus UH-1H helicopter parts to the Philippines.

A senior Philippine Air Force commander told Reuters that there are around 40,000 parts in the deal.
The spare parts were retained by the Japan Ground Self-Defence Force (JGSDF) after retiring its UH-1H in 2012.
