Information Department Head of Navy Base IV, Major Josdy Damopolii, says this will allow the TNI AL to expand the search area.

Currently, sea patrol boats from Navy Base IV are conducting search along the coastline of Bintan island. Damopolii explained that the winds and currents could have brought the missing sailors to Bintan’s waters.

Alnic MC collided with USS John S Mccain north of Bintan island on Aug. 21.
