The F-15E pilot who shot down an Iranian drone over Syria

A story by Reuters has revealed the identity of the U.S. Air Force F-15E pilot who shot down a Iranian Shahed 129 drone over Syria on Jun. 8.

Lt. Col. Jeremy Renken said he flew a race track pattern around the UAV after it carried out a failed attack on friendly forces on the ground. At a distance, two Russia fighters were monitoring him.

He went ahead to down the drone after it turn towards friendly positions to prepare for another attack.

According to the U.S. Air Force, Lt. Col. Renken is a graduate of the F-15E Weapons Instructor Course.
