Not all Kiwis support Singapore’s deployment of fighters in New Zealand

Singapore has completed its deployment of six F-16D+s to New Zealand’s Ohakea air base on Sept. 25. The local media reported that not all residents living nearby welcome the training exercise.

They complained on the noise from the jets landing and one said it was “deafening.”

Earlier this year, New Zealand disclosed that Singapore might base some of its F-15SGs at Ohakea.

A spokesperson with the New Zealand Defence Force said the noise complains were being taken seriously and the public response for the F-16 deployment were largely positive.
