Thai deputy PM says no decision made on buying American attack helicopters

Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Prawit Wongsuwon has refuted reports that Bangkok is prepared to buy attack helicopters from the United States to replace its aging AH-1Fs.

Prawit added that a committee has yet to setup to select and procure a new attack helicopter.

Meanwhile, Army chief Chalermchai Sitthisad insisted that there is no deadline on the final decision to go ahead with a replacement program.
