U.S. evaluated Taiwan’s combat support ship for medical role

Taiwan’s military has refused to comment on a report that the Republic of China Navy’s fast combat support ship Panshi was recently inspected by U.S. officials.

The Americans were interested to find out if the ship is able to provide medical support in event of a conflict with North Korea.

The vessel has an operating room and 15 beds. Its flight deck is large enough to support the CH-53E, a report by Apple Daily said.
