Head of USAF’s Space Command keen on using recycled Falcon 9 booster

Gen. John Raymond, head of the U.S. Air Force’s Space Command, told Bloomberg on Oct. 16 that he is “completely committed” to using recycled rocket boosters to launch government payloads.

“The market’s going to go that way. We’d be dumb not to,” he said. “What we have to do is make sure we do it smartly.”

Raymond hinted that his staff is working with SpaceX to certify recycled Falcon 9 rockets for military launches.
