Taiwan slaps $268 million fine on Dassault, Thales, Safran over Mirage 2000 scandal

Taiwan has fined Dassault, Thales and Safran for $268 million over commissions paid during the sale of 60 Mirage 2000 fighters to the island back in 1992.

Dassault will have to fork out $155 million while Thales will have to pay $64 million. Safran is slapped with $29 million.

All three companies said in separate statements that they will consider the next steps to be taken.
