Reuters has been told by four sources that Japan has decided to postpone a decision for the F-3 fighter program.
Bureaucrats have not decided whether to pursue a pure domestic program or look for an international partner. Sources say the outcome will be determined after 2018.
This means the F-3 program will not be included in Japan’s next five-year defense equipment plan that will go into force in 2019.
