T-6A grounded at Vance AFB after pilots report “physiological incidents”

The 71st Flying Training Wing at Vance Air Force Base has placed its T-6A fleet on Nov. 15 after four episodes of physiological incidents on the aircraft.

Base officials said four instructor pilots and one student pilot had reported the incidents, the first occurred on Nov. 1.

A press release from the base says each time “the aircraft’s backup oxygen system operated as designed, and the pilot followed the correct procedures, landing the aircraft safely.”
