A report by China’s Global Times claim that the Shaanxi Y-9 transport aircraft is now ready for combat missions after the type completed exercises in the South China Sea.

The state-sponsored news outlet quoted a post by the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) on the latter’s WeChat account on Dec. 2.
The post said it was the first long-range maritime exercise for the Y-9 and air-drop missions were completed.
