Aviation Week: Indonesia keen on buying Western fighters

Two industry sources in Indonesia told Aviation Week that Jakarta are in talks with Western fighter manufacturers on a potential order for new aircraft.

Two aircraft are being looked at – the F-16 and Eurofighter – but Indonesia might consider the Rafale and Gripen as well.

Lockheed Martin has proposed to sell the F-16 Block 70 and its offer includes upgrading the current F-16C/D fleet to the same standard.
