New NK-32 will allow Tu-160 to gain 1,000km range

The most powerful afterburning turbofan engine fitted on a combat aircraft will be upgraded to make it 10 percent more efficient.

This will allow its platform – the Tu-160 bomber – to increase its range by 1,000km, this was disclosed during Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov’s visit to Kuznetsov Company.
