Engaging the F-35 requires different tactics as compared to the F-22, Capt. Brock McGehee added.

12 F-35As from the 34th Fighter Squadron are currently deployed to Kadena Air Base, Japan.

  1. Somewhat of a trolling headline. The usual F-35 fanboy vs detractor spatfight aside, the actual quote from the article relating to the outcome of F-15 vs. F-35 engagements is as follows:

    —–

So can the F-15 beat the F-35 in dogfights?

“I mean, sometimes,” [F-15 pilot Capt. Brock] McGehee said, adding that all aircraft lose in aerial combat sometimes, and for various reasons.

“Part of it is the aircraft and part of it is the man in the aircraft,” he continued. “We’ve got some really talented pilots here who are able to gain the offensive on a lot of other pilots. A pilot who understands this aircraft very well and is very skilled at it is pretty lethal no matter what he’s flying, so it’s possible.”

  2. For the amount of money that Lockheed-Martin and the JSO are charging for the F-35, it should be invincible. All that is required to defeat a fleet of F-35s is a fleet of ANY OTHER AIRCRAFT provided that the cost of the fleet is the same. For the same total cost, a fleet of 100 F-35s would have to face a fleet of 200 Typhoons, 300 Rafales, 350 Rhinos, 400 Falcons or 500 Gripens. Funnily enough, the Gripen force is BY FAR the most powerful in this list, showing the cost-efficacy of the Swedish marvel. This is why the F-35 weakens air forces, it was never made to be a powerful and deadly fighter. It was made to line the pockets of Lockheed-Martin.
