Portugal to take over NATO Baltic Air Policing mission in May

Portugal will be sending four F-16M fighters from Air Base No 5 Monte Real to Šiauliai, Lithuania, for NATO’s Baltic Air Policing mission next month.

They will be augmented by four French Mirage 2000-5 from 01.002 wing and six Spanish Eurofighters. The French detachment will be based at Ämari Air Base, Estonia.
