Lockheed Martin gets another contract to develop a hypersonic weapon

Lockheed Martin has won the U.S. Air Force’s Air-Launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW) program that is worth $480 million.

The contract will provide the critical design review, test and production readiness support.

The company won the Hypersonic Conventional Strike Weapon (HCSW) earlier in April.

The HCSW applies mature technologies into an air-launched delivery system while the ARRW effort is “pushing the art-of-the-possible.”
