Raytheon is trying to get USAF interested in JPALS

Flight Global says Raytheon is in talks with the U.S. Air Force regarding the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS).

The company hopes that the flying branch will be interested in procuring the system in order for the F-35A to make automated landings on remote airfields.

JPALS has been installed on Navy aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships and Raytheon is Humvee portable version that can be ferried by a C-130. The JPALS software is already installed on all version of the F-35.
