DOT&E says CVN 78 “will probably not achieve” sortie rate requirement

Bloomberg has managed to obtain an assessment of USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) by the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation. The Pentagon’s chief tester says new aircraft carrier “will probably not achieve” its sortie rate due to ongoing problems with its Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) system.
