USN wants the GQM-163A to simulate the 3M54 Klub by adding a chaff dispenser

NAVAIR has given Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems a contract to study how to integrate deployable chaff system into the GQM-163A, Jane’s reported.

The chaff system is intended to simulate the terminal stage of the 3M54 Klub supersonic anti-ship missile whereby the terminal stage separates from the vehicle bus stage.
