USMC F-35Bs could be operating from JS Izumo as early as next year

Japan will complete modifications necessary to support the flight operations of the F-35B in fiscal 2020, Asahi Shimbun reports.

JS Kaga will have its modifications done by fiscal 2022.

During this period, USMC F-35Bs will be the first to operate from those ships while Japan waits for the F-35Bs that it is preparing to order.
