Raytheon says it is developing a new medium-range, air-launched weapon called the Peregrine. It has the range of the AIM-120 but is half the size and cost.

The new missile is faster and more maneuverable while doubling the weapons loadout on fighter aircraft.
A company executive says “the Peregrine is meant to complement, not replace, the AMRAAM and Sidewinder.”
