USAF wants to adopt Century Series approach for its next-generation of fighters

Next month, the U.S. Air Force intends to reshape its next-generation fighter program and adopt a rapid approach to developing small batches of fighters.

The Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program plans to mirror the Century Series approach from the 1950s.

The service’s acquisition executive told Defense News that a new fighter could be develop within five years using this technique.
