Bart Hendrickx at The Space Review has published a comprehensive review of Russia’s Peresvet mobile laser system.
First disclosed by Russian President Vladimir Putin in March 2018. The Peresvet is believed to be used to dazzle the optical systems of spy satellites.
Units assigned to operate the Peresvet have been found located together with Russian road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missiles garrisons. Any attempts to track those missiles by satellites as they moved out of their bases could be countered by the Peresvet.
