Biden administration’s first FMS approval is to Chile for SM-2 Block IIIA missiles

The new Biden administration has approved the sale of SM-2 Block IIIA air defense interceptor missiles to Chile that is worth up to $85.0 million.

A total of 16 missiles are approved under the sale package. They will be installed on the two Adelaide-class frigates that Chile had bought from Australia in 2020.
