DARPA has made a new announcement on the progress of its Manta Ray project, to develop a long duration, long range, payload-capable unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV).

The preliminary design reviews were completed in early 2021. Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation and Martin Defense Group, LLC will advance their designs toward a critical design review.
Metron, Inc., will advance progress on a novel energy harvesting subsystem.
