KAL 747-8I arrives in Germany for conversion into Code One

A Korean Air Boeing 747-8I Intercontinental wide-body airliner HL7643 has arrived in Hamburg, Germany for conversion into a VVIP transport for the South Korean government.


The aircraft’s callsign is Code One when ferrying the President of South Korea. It is expected to enter service in November.

The government is leasing the aircraft under a five-year contract worth $242.3 million. Under the terms, Korean Air is suppose to provide a backup plane of the same type.
