E-2, F-15, F/A-18 made barrier arrested landing during Cope North 21

The two Barrier Arresting Kits (BAK-12) at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam were replaced on Apr. 26. In the new releases on May 3 from the 36th Wing Public Affairs, Master Sgt. Robert Smith from the 36th Civil Engineer Squadron said the BAK-12 was used to catch a E-2, F-15 and F/A-18 during exercise Cope North 21 in February.

A man portable air defence system (MANPADS) fired by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) shot down a Myanmar military helicopter on May 3.

F-35Bs operating from HMS Queen Elizabeth will join Operation Shader

The F-35Bs assigned to the Royal Air Force’s 617 Squadron will carry out airstrikes in Iraq and Syria during the maiden deployment of the U.K. Carrier Strike Group (CSG21).
