The Air Force Strategic Development Planning and Experimentation Office disclosed that during a test of an instrumented JASSM deployment box at White Sands Missile Range in March, the G-11 parachute was used.

With new parachutes, a new altitude record was set for the JASSM deployment box.

Dr. Dean Evans, Rapid Dragon Program Manager, said that issues identified in previous tests have been overcome and those testing at Emerald Warrior exercise in March found that stabilization rates were better than predictions from modeling. This could improve the box’s capability by reducing the range loss and increasing weapon de-confliction.

A live-fire test is scheduled later this year.
